So you see, it all started like this ... I made some macaroni and cheese last night. But, when I put in the cheese it looked a little funny. Upon further inspection of the box it seems as if I was a little late to the party because it had expired in January 2008. That made me think .... what else in the pantry might be expired?
A lot. Really. I was shocked at the waste. But then appalled when I found this:
That my friends is a hunk of Velveeta that expired in January 2008. When I opened the box I gasped because all the holes looked like we had a friend in the pantry. But, upon further inspection ... we figured out that the cheese is trying to eat it's way out of the wrapper! Oh my oh my. It's almost enough to make me swear off Velveeta forever. Notice I said almost.

Yeah...now you see what I was saying when I cleaned out my cabinets a few weeks ago! We waste a terrible amount of food...things get on top of each other and when we buy a new one it gets put on top of the old ones!! Even today when eating lunch, Stoney noticed the same thing on the back of that hunk of cheese that we did....Oct 08...but ringht underneath it was 2009...I laughed cause you and I saw the same thing last weekend! Keep cleaning...you haven't gotten my box of Hamburger Helper that expired in 1999 beat yet!! Yes it went in the trash~!
